I. PURPOSE
To establish procedures for the inspection and audit of medications in Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health (DMH) directly operated programs.
II. DEFINITIONS

III. POLICY
The DMH Chief of Pharmacy shall designate audit control pharmacists to conduct inspections (site visits) of DMH directly operated clinics quarterly where medications are stored, administered, dispensed, or any other area within the clinics at the discretion of the DMH Chief of Pharmacy to ensure that medications in the clinics are handled in accordance with applicable federal, State, and County regulations.
