- DMH clinic nurses or psychiatric technicians shall check the existing stock of a patient's own medications against the upcoming week's injection appointment calendar and proactively order refills of long-acting injectables for clients who have an active order for their medications.
- When presented with the delivery of a patient’s own medications from retail pharmacies, DMH clinic nurse(s) or psychiatric technician(s) shall check the existing stock of a patient's own medications and reject any doses in excess of the quantity stated in the policy section to prevent overstock by not signing the prescription receipt for rejected doses.
- Clinics shall log the receipt of all patient’s own medications. The log shall contain the following information:
- Patient’s name
- Medication name
- Medication Strength
- Medication Quantity
- Date ordered (date prescription was ordered by prescriber)
- Date received from pharmacy
- Prescription number
- Name of issuing pharmacy
