I.  PURPOSE
 
To provide an avenue by which the Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health (LACDMH) employees will be encouraged to drive in a safe and courteous manner while operating a County vehicle.
 
II. DEFINITIONS
 
There are no definitions associated with this policy.
 
III.  POLICY
 
The LACDMH will provide formal procedures to inform employees of safe driving practices, and will monitor comments received from the public.

LACDMH employees operating County vehicles are required to exercise safe, courteous, and defensive driving practices. Failure to do so may result in disciplinary action, up to and including discharge.

 All County-owned vehicles are to be driven only for the purpose of conducting County business.
