Education specifications, including program and space requirements, are to be developed by committees of teachers, specialists, parents and administrators who meet with architects and engineers. Upon completion, the specifications and schematic building plans shall be presented to the Lincoln Board of Education for approval.
Generally, the content of a set of educational specifications would include all or part of the following items:
- A statement of the educational philosophy as it pertains to the specific construction project.
- Community and Lincoln Public School characteristics
- What is the plan of organization and expected enrollments of the school?
- What is the construction plan for this facility?
- What special services are to be provided?
- What special provisions are needed for community use?
- What qualities are important to the functional layout of the structure?
- What characteristics are important to provide a safe and secure environment for students, staff and community?
