To insure safe and secure environments:

  1. Emergency plans shall be developed for every building or other facility owned or under the control of the District using a District-approved format. Plans may allow for alterations to meet each facility’s needs.
  2. All emergency plans will be approved by the Security Department.
  3. Building principals will organize and exercise emergency plans throughout the year in the form of emergency drills and other emergency exercises.
  4. A District safety committee composed of staff, parents and community members will meet at least once a year to provide advisory assistance to the District on safety and security issues.
  5. An annual review by an outside source will be conducted at each district site to evaluate safety and security.  The Security Department will analyze the review along with any recommendations and determine if any changes should be made to district safety and security practices. The Security Department is responsible for implementing recommendations determined to be necessary to maintain the safety and security of the district sites. The Security Department will make reports as needed to the Associate Superintendent for Business Affairs.
