Consensual personal relationships of a romantic or sexual nature between co-workers who are not in a direct supervisory relationship do not concern the District unless conduct associated with that relationship:

  1. Constitutes sexual harassment or discrimination.
  2. Affects an employee’s job evaluation or treatment.
  3. Interferes with job performance or harmonious/civil work relationships within the workplace.

A consensual dating relationship between a supervisor and an employee who is a direct report is inappropriate in the workplace and is inconsistent with the District’s philosophy as well as the supervisor’s duties and responsibilities.

Retaliatory action will not be taken against an employee for reporting under this policy. Employment action, up to and including termination of employment, may be imposed upon employees who violate the aforementioned standards of conduct.
