Employees' Responsibility for Student Behavior

- The principal shall provide adequate training and support for the multi-tiered system of support for behavior so that the employee can foster positive school climate and be effective in helping students reach the building’s schoolwide expectations. The principal will monitor the communication system, including ensuring that the principal be notified of actions for which a student shall be temporarily removed from the classroom.
- The student shall be subject to the processes and procedures of the multi-tiered system of support for behavior which may include the loss of privileges.
- The employee shall be responsible for using the processes and procedures described in the multi-tiered system of support for behavior, which provide reasonable measures necessary to maintain a safe and positive learning environment:
- In the classroom,
- In the school building,
- On the school grounds, and
- At school events or activities.
- The employee may investigate, speak with or question students regarding conduct or behavior at any time and shall be responsible for reporting violations of school policies, rules and regulations to the principal. Parents/guardians will be notified or present as required by the Student Discipline Act.
