The school calendar shall provide at least the following number of hours of instructional time per school year: - Kindergarten through grade five 1,043

Instructional time is defined as the period of time between the start of the school day for students and the end of the school day for students, excluding lunchtime. Instructional time includes time spent in the supervised Out-of-School Learning Program, time required for students to move from one learning activity to another and, in elementary schools, up to 30 minutes per day of supervised recess activity. Faculty-sponsored school activities (e.g., clubs, contests, interscholastic sports) shall not occur during instructional time, except as authorized by the Superintendent or designee. |
