The Lincoln Public School District is committed to creating a learning environment where every individual is valued, respected, and supported. This policy emphasizes the shared responsibility of individuals for their actions and their ability to learn, grow, and thrive. The district will provide the framework, professional development, monitoring and support of the multi-tiered system of support for behavior designed to aid in reaching the following goals:

  1. Build/enhance student relationships, positive school climate and safe learning environments
  2. Be proactive by preventing problem behaviors from occurring
  3. Teach and reinforce socially-appropriate behaviors thereby increasing teaching and learning time
  4. Build capacity for all staff to effectively and consistently address problem behaviors
  5. Help students develop productive and meaningful social skills and positive behaviors

All behavioral expectations which may form the basis for discipline of students shall be distributed to students and their parents/guardians at the beginning of each school year, or at the time of enrollment if during the school year, and shall be posted in conspicuous places in each school.

Corporal punishment is not authorized in the Lincoln Public Schools.
