University Patent Policy

The patent policy of the University is contained in the Regents' Rules and Regulations, Rule 90101. This policy applies to all persons employed by the University and to anyone using University facilities under the supervision of University personnel, including postdoctoral and pre-doctoral fellows.

Faculty members or other University personnel who have developed what they believe to be patentable ideas and those with questions concerning University Patent Policy should contact the Intellectual Property Team at ip@discoveries.utexas.edu.
